Rear Door Locked

The child locks are activated. There are levers on the 2 rear doors. In the locked position the doors cannot be opened from the inside. Just flip the levers in the opposite direction.

 

Sounds like you engaged the child proof lock. Check the rear part of the door panel just below the door strike and be sure the switch is UP.

Hmm.. is this the first 4 door you owned? That child-proof lock has been in 4-door sedans in the U.S. since the 1970's - I had it in my 1978 Audi Fox and 1980 4-dr Rabbit!

Up until a year ago, a friend who has been driving for 20+ years did not know about the day/night feature of the rear view mirror. No, not a dumb blond. She is a Berkeley grad.

After being a teaching assistant at a prestigeous, Ivy League university, no one will ever be able to impress me again about how smart they are by talking about where they went to college. There are some very intelligent people at "2nd Tier" colleges and some not very intelligent people at "top" colleges and universities.

 

In other words, ignorance has very little to do with intelligence.

True enough, but it was me talking about her.

The fact that someone attended a prestigious university increases the odds that they are intelligent, but it definitely does not guarantee superior knowledge in every area.

Unfortunately, having attended a prestigious university also increases the odds that they are a social misfit. :blink:
The prime example: Ted (The Unibomber) Kaczynski. He graduated from Harvard and was an assistant math professor at Berkeley. Definitely some major screws missing and loose in that head.

In the case of my friend, she truly is intelligent and well balanced, not just book smart in one subject.

I live quite close to UC Davis Medical Center . . . and therefor have many doctors and med students for neighbors. Absolutely the cream of the crop. How can I say this? The ones amongst them who are book smart realize that fact and ask for help. I have yet to meet one who acted like a superior know-it-all.
Unfortunately, I can't say the same for the lawyer in our midst - An absolute pariah with no neighborly social skills. He is more than ready to say, “I am a lawyer, and I say I am right.” He also attended UC Berkeley.
