Hey there guys and gals, I haven’t been here in sometime as my 2014 PIP was killed off by another bad driver in ‘23. So after driving my Silverado for close to two years, I’m actually missing the 50mpg @ 75 with the climate controls set at 72 all year long. Plus the new cars are certainly a bit more palatable to me. So given the fact that I never, and I mean never plugged my car in, nor was I a lite foot, that car always exceeded EPA specs. It seems the new car doesn’t meet the same standards of efficiency based on what I’m reading. So I’d love some honest answers here… my old car had a smaller fuel tank compared to a standard Prius. This time around I really want 500-600 miles per tank, definitely not doing the LE. I want the AWD XSE. I like the wheels and I want AWD for no other reason, other than in my mind it’s a cool feature. Give me your thoughts, so far what I’m reading is a buzz kill.
If you had a PiP up until just recently and you already know what the plug provides I'm stumped about the question of choice. Both are gonna have ups and downs, just some of those ups and downs show up more on one than with the other to the uninitiated. Everyone has there own expectations of what these two very different cars should provide. I had an older other hybrid than a PiP now a Prime and I can say each one was a new game / learning experience. But I also realize not everyone buys a car to learn about it's new tech features. As simply as I can put it from my experiences, whatever you can do in a Prius you can also do in a Prime but not the other way around.
I’m sorry you’re stumped. I’m looking for an honest answer to my question from a current generation AWD XLE or AWD LIMITED owner.
Honestly, never been a fan of sedans, it’s crazy but I think I prefer the Prius. It’s smaller, almost a good looking car. I guess you’re on to something, bigger gas tank? as a side note, beautiful backyard!
Genuine curiosity... why? With the greatest of ease, your average efficiency could have been bumped up by 30 to 50 MPG.
It got smaller in the latest effort to enlarge trunk space. 13.5 gallons at an average of 50 mpg = 675 mile range. But that’s including safety. What is the G5 Prius range?
