With more modern cars, you have to worry about the head lights(Toyota Tundra Pickup Recall for Headlights That Catch Fire - Consumer Reports), window switches (Toyota recalls over 7 million cars over potential fire hazard), and starter battery (1.9 Million Toyota RAV4 SUVs Investigated for Battery Fire Risk). That's just with Toyota. Best to park no car in your garage.
I had a Saab 9000 that burst into flames while I was driving it home from the airport in Hong Kong. I caused a 6-km tailback, and melted some of the road. Embarrassingly, several of my friends, and one guy I really didn't like, were in the tailback and were guided slowly past me and the smoking remains of the car. I asked one of the firefighters what he thought the problem might be, thinking he might say "fuel leak" or "electrical fault" or something. He said, "Well..... Your problem here, mate, is that it's a 10-year-old Saab." Succinct and to the point. What's weird is - get this - that Saab was not electric. Spooky.
Wasn't there a problem five or ten years ago with a new model of Ferrari that kept bursting into flames? If I recall correctly, the brakes would overheat and set fire to the glue that held some composite panels together, and the whole car would melt into a pool of goo.

Yes, but what if you ignore all the ICE ones and only look at the EV ones? Then you'll find that 100% of vehicle fires are EVs.
The irony of course is that hybrid cars have both an EV and a gas powered system, which hilariously makes them a greater fire hazard than both gas-powered and electricity powered: "The site found that hybrid vehicles had the most fires per 100,000 sales at 3474.5. Old Saabs had this awesome idea of putting the hot side of the turbo right up close to the soft plastic casing of the 12v battery. VW eventually noticed that aluminum casting became less expensive, no need to use magnesium anymore. All their new designs from 1972 used aluminum blocks, though they did continue to manufacture magnesium type 1 blocks for decades after.
