Where is the regular 12 volt battery located on the Prime? Is it easy to get to? Is there anything special if you need a jump?

Your Toyota Prime comes with a 3-year SOS package so you get free Towing I'm assuming free jumps yoo. And they also come if you run out of gas or have a flat tire. And I believe there's no charge for these services for the first three years. I would really not want to jump start this thing as their are so many computer components to it. It would be a bad deal if one of those computer things got zapped by the jumper cables. :(

the gen 4 battery is larger than previous generations, and hopefully more robust.

Looks more conventional, regular post size, you can top up the electrolyte.

If you are going to boost from another car, have them shut off their engine. You don't need a lot of power and you absolutely don't need any voltage spikes from alternator arguments between the two cars. You can also boost from a "boost pack" or even an "alarm system battery" (gel cell type).
DO ensure you get the polarity correct. DO connect the negative terminal -last- and do so on a bare metal chassis part underhood (to avoid a spark near the battery - which -might- ignite the H2-O2 mixture of gasses in the battery). That would ruin your day!

So how well does the SOS button work with a dead 12V battery?

So if a tow service came to jump you would they know all this?

not likely. many reports here over the years of cross pollonized connections from tow drivers, causing inverter failures or blown high voltage fuse at best.
never let anyone do anything without your supervision.
