I just got my '01 and I was unable to take it in for an inspection before the purchase. I am taking it in this week for a good look over. I'm going to have them change the oil while it's in, reminding them not to overfill. Should I have them do the trans. fluid also? I know the steering recall was done. I will have them check the batteries. What else should I make sure they check?

A hybrid battery check is a waste of time and money. If there are no codes, then they will tell you that there is no problem. You already own the car, just drive it until you get a trouble code for a failed battery.

Do change your transmission fluid, however, and have then check the throttle plate/bore for build-up, as that is the most common problem with older, high mileage G1s.

What about the inverter coolant? Can that just be checked or should it just be changed?
