This is my first time posting here, so apologies if I accidentally posted in the wrong forum.

A few weeks ago, my 2008 Prius suddenly stopped turning on w/ a red triangle when I turned it on. My obd scanner spat out the error code P0AA6, so I researched and decided to bring to an auto-shop to get the subcode. I called AAA, and when they arrived, b/c of the way I parked (I park in a tiny parking structure of my apartment), the tow person recommended me to reset the code and bring the car outside of the parking structure.

Since resetting the code, the error code has not shown up; the mechanic found no problem with the HV battery or anything, and my car still runs fine (mileage and Dr. Prius diagnostic look fine).

I was wondering if anyone else had a similar experience, or if anyone is aware w/ what my potential issue was? Is it possible that my obd just misdiagnosed? Is it safe for me to continue driving (I obviously don't want to get stranded in the middle of the road)? Is there alternative tests I can perform?

    Thanks!!

because you are likely dealing with corrosion somewhere, it will pop up again. when it does, you'll need the subcode, and help here, or the service manual to track down the location.

While the underlying condition is there all the time, conditions, like humidity for example, can affect whether it shows up enough to trigger a P0AA6. So the code might come back again, but it might not be right away.

You can use the time to review other threads about P0AA6 here, and be sure you understand how to get the second (non-526) INF code to appear.
