Putting a hood release latch back on

The hood release latch on my '08 popped off. I went to open it to put more washer fluid in, and it was hanging by a corner.

I can see how the plastic latch itself fits on and how the end of the cable fits into it, but I don't see how the spring fits to either the latch or the dash--what's the orientation and where to the ends fit in?

Anyone know? Any shots of what it looks like in place?
