I just finished installing a new Kenwood radio and the unit worked fine but now I am getting a Red Warning Triangle on the dash cluster. The car moves with the engine on but when I try to touch the MFD The side buttons do not respond and it seems like the touch screen is slow to respond. Do these cars use a CANBUS system that requires the factory head unit to be pluged in for the hybrid drive system to function properly? I called Peripheral and they said not that they are aware of.

I'm going to tear the dash apart again and check to see that everything is plugged in correclty but in the few hours I have left before I start working on it I would like to know if any of you could shed some light on the subject.

The install went smooth otherwise, and the unit looks great hidden behind the smoked flip panel beflow the stock radio. :)

If you disconnected the Park button during your installation, you will get the red triangle and the red car on the MFD for a few minutes until it resets. Also be sure all doors and the hatch are fully closed.

You are right about the red triangle. That problem went away. Now I am dealing with the MFD issue. I called Metra after finding another thread on the subject and there are two wires that need to be jumpered with a resistor to make the climate control system work. Once I finish that part and if everything works right I will report back so that others are aware of this problem before they attempt a similar install. :)

Ok, figured it out the hard way but was a cake walk none the less.

I'll take pics of the install tomorrow and do a quicky write up on it. I'm just excited it worked so well and is totally stealth. :)

Thanks for the input Banjoman. :)

It will. You understand how to splice those two harnesses together which is the most complex part of the install. It's quite simple but hard to drescribe online. Your install is going to go ok once you put that other harness on.
