Stopped for gas yesterday, and upon restarting the car and shifting into D, the red triangle came on with the following message: "Use Park when stopped, battery will not charge in Neutral". Shifted to Reverse, no problem. Tried Drive again, and got the triangle/ message. Turned car off and tried again. Same message, with door ajar light on. Exited and checked all the doors, all of which were already closed and tried again. About the 4th try, it finally went into D. Hasn't happened since then... any ideas? Thanks.
It almost sounds like the drivers door switch is giving you trouble. I am referring to the little button on the door frame that controls the dome light inside. I have no doubt others will share more info. Best of luck to you.
