    Hi there,

I have a 2012 V that needs a new catalytic converter. There's some aftermarket available in eBay at an affordable price, below U$100 inclusive of shipping , with two sizes, 620mm and 580mm. I emailed the seller to confirm the size, and they asked for my VIN where they then confirmed that the ones they're selling are not compatible, and that I need p/n 1741037551.

Further research shows the price of this part is over $1,000, more line closer to 2k, and the original Toyota part is ~3.5k.

Is there a way to modify the aftermarket part to fit my car? This is a high mileage car, and I just got the head gasket done, but don't want to sink any more money at this.

Furthermore, how can the prices be that far apart? How different can they be, the chemical component couldn't be that different from the original one. I just need a little more life with this 2012 I have, until I can fully transition to another hybrid or perhaps an ev. TIA
