Prius v beeps when I leave ... driving me nuts.

I responded to a PIP poster a while back who was experiencing this. It had just started happening on my v but haven't heard from anyone who's figured this out and it's really starting to drive me nuts.

Like today, parked my v at the store, exited the car and it's beeping like I'd left the car ON. Looked at the dash from the outside and it was *indeed* OFF.

Description of what's happening from my reply in the PIP forum:

... one or more short beeps after powering off and opening driver door. And it's inconsistent.

It started at about 10k miles ... a month ago or so [... now about 3 months.]

Hadn't changed a thing.

• No extra fob in car.
• Auto-off feature takes care of lights so it's not that.
• And I don't have a sunroof.
• And it's not like I'm even opening the door *while* I'm powering down ... there's a good second or two between releasing the power button and opening the door.

Been a Prius driver for 10 years and this is my 3rd.

Never experienced this before and just baffled.
