Since I just put up a reliability survey and tech screwups came up in the discussion, I thought I'd put up a survey on how people's service experiences went. This was a harder survey to define I think, because there are so many variables to the service experience. I decided to pick a couple of basic things related to the actual maintenance/repair of your vehicle. I know there are a million other things that can make or break the experience, but I only get 3 questions. Please don't let this thread become a b*tchfest about bad service experiences, let's try to make it constructive at the very least. i suppose my personal experience doesn't count as much, but in general there is always a prius tech available at my local dealership. haven't had any problems that have needed diagnosis and repair, and there's only one person who's allowed to work on my car- but we have a backup tech in case DH is somehow unable to do the work (injury, something along those lines) and the fix can't wait.
Another good chance to look at how the Prius is doing and how the service people are doing. I have always gone in with fear and trepidation when I have had any car serviced. DARCARS of Silver Spring seems to always do it correctly. I don't just drop in but they have always been willing to talk to me when I am there. Thanks to PriusChat I do feel I often know more about the car then they do.
