Hopefully, the Prius Prime will be available with purchase discounts through programs such as Costco, AAA, TrueCar, and/or others.

I figure it would benefit PriusChat readers if we shared experiences with each other. Has anyone seen or used the costing guides for any of these programs?

I have run across one southern Los Angeles dealership that is offering a great price through the Costco program. Two others from the Costco program in the San Diego area are not really offering a deal.
TrueCar at the moment does not seem to have updated its database to include the Prime.
I have not tried AAA yet, didn't even think of them.

I just tried the AAA website of new cars and they don't have a special AAA price listed for this car (mind you this is all for southern California). I believe they are connecting me to a dealer, let us see what they offer.

I am not sure if I am suppose to say prices on this, PM and I will be happy to share. Let us just say it was more than $500 off. It hurt me to refuse cause I have my heart set on a certain color.

I would hold out for what color I wanted as well. Color is important.

you can state prices here, that's what this thread is for. only dealers have restrictions. specific pricing and dealerships or programs will help other pc'ers.

TonyPSchaefer (thread originator here) is one of the moderators, so seems they have no problems posting prices on PriusChat from their end.

As long as the dealers or Costco didn't make you sign some kind of non-disclosure agreement, you should be good to go.

FYI, Toyota gives everyone $500 off on cash purchase and other(s) have reported another $100 off from their dealer in the SF Bay Area.

I just got a response from a dealer thru AAA, they have no special discount price to offer me. This is a San Diego dealer so maybe someone else might have a better chance somewhere else.

Ok I guess I can give numbers without certain specifics. This dealer thru the Costco program was offering me around $670 off MSRP, I forget if he called it his invoice or net. Then he said the Costco discount of a further $350 more off.
He mentioned that did not include the $500 rebate from Toyota. This guy was very upfront and I re asked to make sure the numbers were right what was being offered.

Yeah, I think I'll wait. I hope the $4500 federal tax credit doesn't go away. Also, currently Toyota is offering $2500 cash back on the regular Prius and only $500 on the Prime.

ah, good point. that could be a game changer. still, mfg.'s will have to compete, or get out the business.

Like I've been saying in other posts, Call Dianne Whitmire at Carson Toyota. I took the train up ($14), she picked me up in Capistrano. Gave me the standard Toyota $500, plus another Priuschat discount (that was better than the Costco one). The transaction couldn't have been smoother. Loving my Prime.

For the US east coast, PM me for a dealer in the DC area with similar customer service. Since they have no Prime allocated, they would need to order one from the distributor, though.
