Hi everyone, not sure if this is the correct thread to post this on so forgive me if I mispost! Got this car about a month ago and sadly it is already out of commission. Was just wondering if I could get some opinions on if it looks totaled or not. Passenger side door wont open, and it was leaking pink fluid. When you turn it on it says some kind of system is down (cant remember) and to visit dealership. image1.jpeg image2.jpeg image3.jpeg

    Sorry to hear:cry:.

You'll only know by having it assessed by a Crash Repairer - my suspicions are that it probably is repairable, but they'll look underneath and check for hidden structural damage. The door is possibly fine, but the guard could have been forced back and stopping it getting full movement.

But - there is quite a bit of damage, and many things to be replaced. The pink fluid is coolant, either the engine, or the inverter - but could just be a hose severed or the overflow container.

The error code isn't surprising - it's basically telling you that some sensor isn't responding correctly - and there are hundreds of sensors in a PRIUS. For a start, your headlight and other RH lights, the pink fluid, and your wiper fluid would be faulting.

Or not and you won't find out about it until months/years later. Sad.

That was a good hit, but I think it is unlikely to be totaled. It won't be a cheap claim, but the car looks fully repairable for less than its own cost.

One thing to ensure is that the Crash Repairer ensures that the RADAR Cruise is recalibrated and includes that in the quotation/estimate.

Thinking about the door not opening - is the gap between the back and front doors "normal"?

Well, if the estimate is more than a certain percentage of its value to repair it, it would be totaled and sold off for parts. You won't know until they do a damage assessment.
