I'm selling a gently used Prius replacement battery with approximately 1 month of use. I am selling it because I ended up trading in my 05 for a 2010 Prius
The Specs on the battery are in the below link:DS46B24R YELLOWTOP® Prius® Auxiliary Battery 8171-767 :: OPTIMA® Batteries

The only things missing from this battery are:
    -The carrying strap
-Plastic covers over the terminal posts

I would prefer not to ship this item and if you're local to Lansdale, Pa (Philadelphia Area) I can help you install it.
Asking $100 or will trade for 2010 rear privacy cover

A good salvaged MFD can be purchased for about $400 and can be installed by anyone in about 45 minutes. MFD problems are not a reason to give up on a Gen2 Prius.

See: Plug In Hybrid Electric Vehicle PHEV

I was able to repair my 2004 MFD after educating myself thanks to the Hobbit's great postings and spent $31 for tools and about 2 hours labor.

    Hey Jeff,

I apologize if I came off as trying to bash the Gen2 and think it is a great car. My intention when purchasing it 8 months ago was to have a commuter car for work (new job, 100 mile roundtrip) and it quickly became the car I took everywhere.

The MFD was only part of my reason for trading in the gen2, had that MFD been the only issue I would have looked into a salvage unit or hobbits approach. My intention for posting the comment about the MFD was to (attempt to) add credibility to the 1 month duration of use.

    Hey SageBrush,

Ended up being $16.5 for a 2010 Four with 38K miles, but yea still one expensive MFD, haha. I pass a toyota dealer on my way home from work and I slowly saw the price drop from $23k over the last few months. What can I say it was an impulse buy and i've been very happy with it...

On the bright side, someone can get a good deal on a replacement battery ;)

I can pick it up in a few weeks, unless you are coming to DC. I will be driving DC to NW CT.
