my dealer here in Tucson, AZ, is telling me that the 07 combination meter is on backorder for 3-4 weeks.

Toyota, you must be joking! I might as well buy an audi or a tesla if Toyota downtime is 1 month. The reason I buy Toyota is that this can never happen.

I've tolerated melting plastics (fob, windows and hatch), an inverter coolant pump failure, and a bizarre 12V battery implementation and three exchanges in 81,000 miles worth of driving over 10 years.

Can you help me elevate this complaint? I believe the dealer is making my feelings clear to the district manager, is there anything else I can do?

    Thanks,

is this a warranty situation? unfortunately, toyota parts backorders are becoming all too common.

Warranty after 10 years? Or are you suggesting that I look for a used combination meter?

Toyota is paying for my Gen4 rental. My concern is that my current Prius is roasting in the sun, though I did provide a breathable car cover to the dealer. Supposedly the new meter will be here in what is now 2-3 weeks.

    What way would you go?

i would go with the free new one and rental. but i'm no expert on hawaiian sun. most new cars sit in the sun for weeks and months on end.
