Although this may be old hat to many of the regulars here, those newer to the Prius might enjoy the surprisingly complete look at their beloved car in Wikipedia. There are a remarkable number of links at the end of the article -- enough to keep one busy for a long time.

Check it out: Toyota Prius - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

There are also good articles on the Hybrid Synergy Drive, the Atkinson cycle engine, and the Kammback design. Most of them are probably linked from the Prius article.

Thanks for calling attention to it.

Among the good info it has that I wasn't aware of before:

    1. The hood and hatch are made out of aluminum to save weight. Makes me wonder if the non-OEM body parts manufacturers also use aluminium.

    2. This January 2008 article on the problems with the Prius traction control:

Found this out the hard way this this weekend.

I don't like sticking bumper stickers on my car's paint, but it's a Presidential year... In the past when the urge hits me for a sticker I've used flexible magnet stock - stick the sticker on the magnet, stick the magnet on the rear of the car. No adhesive on the paint.

So, anyway, yesterday I put my political sticker on a piece of magnet, go out the the Prius...and imagine my surprise to discover there aren't any iron surfaces on the rear end!
