    Hello everyone,

I think I finally convinced my wife that a Prius is a smart move for us, considering we already have a family monster wagon in our Sequoia. But, I had a few questions in regards to what's available as dealer installed options exactly. In the brochure, there's no options really listed as factory installed options, and we don't want a sunroof or a navigation system, so a Prius III is a waste of money for us. But, we would like to get the following as dealer installed options, if it's possible:

    1) BLU Logic Hands Free System
    2) Interface kit for iPod (Not sure what this really is, other than we know we would like to be able to play music via bluetooth, mini 3.5mm or usb if possible)
    3) Remote Engine Starter
    4) XM Radio

Can anyone confirm that these are items that can be installed at the dealer on a Prius II. And, even better, anyone know what costs are on them, by chance? Thanks a lot for the help,

    Chris

A quick phone call to your Toyota service/parts department will answer all your question including pricing. Actually, you could send your Toyota internet manager an email and s/he will research it for you. Also, I'm certain that your options can be installed by 3rd parties such as Best Buy, auto stores an some stereo outlets.

    Happy Motoring,

    Tom

Not sure about 1 and 3.
There's already an "Aux-In" jack in the II that can be adapted for an I-thingy, and 'my' II came with an XM-ready radio, so you're already 1/2 there.

If you listen to FM radio a lot, and you're in Rockford IL, you may want to seriously consider upgrading the OEM radio anyway. My radio has by far, the poorest reception of any factory radio in the 20 or so cars that I have owned.

    Good Luck!!!!

It's interesting you mention that about the radio. We only turned it on for a second, hit scan, it nearly went through the entire gamut of stations before finding something to lock into. Interesting...good stuff, probably just sounds like get a standard II and upgrade stuff aftermarket instead, possibly. Anybody know if remote engine starting systems are readily available for the Prius or would I be better off with the factory setup? If it's factory, is it all in one keyfob?
