Can we start putting together a list of the various models: Base, Touring, Eco and the features and options available under each model. Then add pricing when available.

Do remember that the "models" vary by country. Each "importer" (your countries Toyota headquarters) specifies which options will go together when they order the cars from Japan. Of course, there may also be "combinations" Japan will and will not make. As an example check out toyota.com, the US "importer", and compare to toyota.ca, the Canadian "importer". I put the word importer in quotes because some of them are owned by Toyota and some are not.

I'm pretty sure this thread is a little early. ;)

Also, Tokyo is coming up soon and hopefully we get full specifications released at that show!

They may release tech specs at the Tokyo show but I agree that U.S. specific model and feature info will have to wait for L.A.

Pricing and EPA numbers may be even later.

Maybe in a year or so. Here is a time table of projected model updates for Toyota, Scion and Lexus. It is from Autonews.com. I have no idea how accurate it is:

Workload looks too uneven from year to year so I doubt it will happen quite that way.

    2015: 7 complete designs released: 4 new, 3 redesigns
    2016: 4 complete designs released: 2 new, 2 redesigns
    2017: 9 complete designs released: 2 new, 7 redesigns
    2018: 5 complete designs released: 0 new, 5 redesigns
    2019: 7 complete designs released: 0 new, 7 redesigns

That's interesting. You'd think the ES will be redesigned at 2017, same as the Camry (which btw is running a 6 year life cycle for this generation). There should be an FR-S refresh somewhere in there.

Also, these are calendar years, not model years.

    Greencarreports:
"According to that source, the new Prius will be launched in six different trim levels: Two, Two Eco, Three, Three Touring, Four and Four Touring.

(As before, the Prius One is expected to be a model with fewer features that is available only for fleet sales[IMG]. It most likely won't be offered right at launch, but later in the car's model cycle.)

Every trim level except the Touring version, which will be the highest-spec model, will come with fabric seats and ride on 15-inch alloy wheels.

The basic trim level, Two, does without a navigation system and features a three-spoke urethane steering wheel in both its Prius Two and Two Eco versions.

One interesting detail on the Two Eco: It deletes the spare tire fitted to the regular Prius Two and replaces it with an inflator kit, presumably to reduce overall vehicle weight.

Moving up to the Prius Three models adds a built-in navigation system, as well as a synthetic leather covering[IMG] for the steering wheel.

Adding the Touring package to the Three or Four models provides Softex synthetic leather upholstery and larger 17-inch alloy wheels, as well as advanced safety systems that include adaptive cruise control and collision[IMG] mitigation.

Those features can also be added separately on Prius Three or Four models as part of the Advanced Technology Package, which bundles them with a moonroof and a heads-up display for the driver.

Other options include a Premium[IMG] Convenience Package for the Four and Four Touring, which adds parking assist and a premium JBL audio system.

For the non-Touring Prius Four, adding that Premium Convenience Package requires specifying the Advanced Technology Package as well.

Finally, the 2016 Toyota Prius will be offered in eight colors: Super White, Blizzard Pearl, Classic Silver Metallic, Magnetic Gray Metallic, Midnight Black Metallic, Hypersonic Red, Sea Glass Pearl and Blue Crush Metallic."

I absolutely HATE these stupid package deals. Want adaptive cruise control? Got to have a moonroof. Like those are related somehow.

I agree, I have no use for a moonroof. It sounds like the touring packages give you advanced safety systems including adaptive cruise control without moonroof . I hope that's the case.
