Prius Gen III 12V Battery Available at Costco?

probably at the dealer. shop around by phone or email for the best price. i don't think cosco has one, but it's easy enough to find out.

 

No problems with the Optima I bought from eLearnAid.

 

There are 4 or 5 brands of direct drop-in replacements you can find on-line and in auto parts stores. Most haven't been around long enough for their durability to be known.

 

I bought this from Amazon a year ago and it's perfect fit.

 

In Canada at least, Costco has zip for the Prius.

Service and availability means a lot. When I will need one, I'm buying this one;

The price is better than the Toyota dealer and the warranty can't be beat.

A warranty is NO good, if you can't get it to the place where you purchased it to avail yourself of it.

There is a FULL 48 months replacement warranty. And, I'm almost sure they retain your data in their computer. They have a store almost everywhere in the US. Mine is half a mile down the road from me.

 

i can't believe the price of aftermarket, not much savings. what really ticks me off, is the toyota customer experience sight takes you to a local dealer and an $85. battery special, even when you spec prius. try going in and asking for that.

 

I see the Canadian Tire site is pretty much hooped, as usual. Situation normal...

When I get a new battery I'll likely just get the OEM Yuasa S46B24R, through a local dealership parts department, for various reasons that override price.

 

looking for a duracell retailer, i came across a news release saying that east penn corp was being licensed to manufacture batteries under the duracell name.

It may be a perfect fit, but the Amazon website says it does not fit the Gen III Prius, only the Gen II Prius. Perhaps the website fit checker is wrong?

 

It ALL depends on WHO does the ratings.

For the Prius, I would be concerned more about reserve capacity.

Heavier means either more electrolyte or pate material.

Then, who will honor the warranty on the Optima? Will they give you an immediate replacement?

To me, that would be worth the extra bucks spent.

Going from (flakey) memory, the OEM was something like $219 from a nearby dealership, and $209 from another, further afield (and invariably having better prices). That's in Canada of course, so...

Plus a core charge, refunded when you bring them back the old one.

I'd much prefer to put it in myself, 'cause I like to hook it up to my charger, let it fully charge. And I'll clean the cable clamps. And I've got the time.

 

No, CCA is not relevant to that issue, at least not directly. The ampere-hour rating is what you should look at for that angle. It tends to be proportionate to weight, although not exactly.

 

the oem's have treated us so well, if i could get one for 200, i would install myself. and they have improved the warranty, though still pro rated.
