A strange thing happened today. I jumped in my Prius (with SS/SE) and pressed my brake and start button at the same time and the damn thing locked up. The cluster display turned on, but it wouldn't turn to "READY", wouldn't turn off, wouldn't do anything. Foot on brake or off. I finally thought to insert the keyfob and pressed the START button and it finally turned off.

I have had this freeze up happen a couple of times, but usually holding the START button a few seconds turns it off and clears it. I am guessing that it has something to do with confusing the start up procedure by pressing two inputs (start and brake) simultaneously?

:? Has anyone else experienced this? :?

I forgot to lock the car this morning, so 9 hours later I get in, and the darn thing refuses to start. ACC mode, amber light. So I hit the Power button, and it won't turn back off right away. I hit it again, and finally it turns off.

So I try again: foot firmly on brake, push Power. Nope. ACC.

One more try from off: brake, button. FINALLY it starts.

Beats me. Maybe a bad start requires a pause for reset...
