Does anyone know if it's safe to take the Prius to the beach? The Prius is sensitive and has many vent openings, and there's plenty of sand blowing around. Mary
It's fine. I took it to the beach several times. One time, it was windy and one side of the Prius was covered in fine dust/sand.

When your Prius is covered with so much dust you have to use the wipers afterward, you no longer need to ask that question. I dealt with that for years. Obviously, it's not a problem... though the sight of an almost always dirty car is really annoying.
If you're asking whether it's OK to drive it ON the beach, see this: http://priuschat.com/index.php?showtopic=24517&hl= Otherwise, you're fine.

I'd make sure I hosed off the salt water and dirt right afterward--especially on the undercarriage and wheel wells.
