Prius and Other Hybrid Car MPG Observations

    Great video and common sense. Do you use the 'B Brake selection when you have to slow down or stop?

    I always love watching these videos from Hawaii, because they make me feel warm just watching the drive in the sunshine (it's wet and cold in London). On a serious note, I've done a similar amount of miles in my Prius to you, and despite having 15 inch tyres and driving in Eco mode, the odo is showing the equivalent of 49 mpg US. That's way lower than your 72.9mpg. I suspect the big factor is the difference in temperature between England and Hawaii during the winter.

    nothing harder on mpg's besides wet and cold, imo.

    That is hard on all cars so there is still a hybrid advantage.

    absolutely. although, with a gasser running the engine full time, the drop off in the cold is probably less.
