I bought my Pri about 2 months ago and can't stop washing it!!!
This is an addiction/obsession I've not experienced with any other car before. I have to wash it at least twice a week or it drives me crazy!
Does this go away over time, or am I doomed to driving a clean car?

    hmmm...living in Arizona eh??

i do not know...dont look good... here in Wa State, its normal to wash your car twice a week when you first get it...and yes it does fade away over time and the coming of summer.

but in Arizona....its already in the dry season...you may be in trouble there

I was hand washing our 2004 at least twice a week last fall. It was obsessive.

Thanks to mother nature and the latitude of SE Michigan, I have yet to hand wash my 2005, purchased in December.

Icicles hanging from frozen fingers is never a good thing.

I'm sooooo looking forward to the end of the snowflake icon this season.

The pollen that has been in the air in and around Washington, DC for the past month or more has given my Salsa red beauty a greenish tint. Car washes this time of year last maybe a day!

I can't seem to look at it without smiling, and I rinse it off often with a garden hose.

"It's MY P***s, and I'll wash it as fast and as long as I want to!" reminds me of my co-op housing days...

That's quite normal. I wash my (black) Prius at least 2 times a week :)

And here are few pictures I took with my Nokia communcator after washing it the day before yesterday. You can even see the carwash behind my car and the water coming down from the car :)

hey Dontchef, what are those dimples on your back bumper? Do you have a backup sensor installed or are they just for looks...very clean Pri!

That's the parking radar/sensor. It's an extra option here in Europe.
    Cheers,

Julian, they don't offer the parking sensor here on the Prius. I wish they did. My old Lexus had it, and it's a useful feature.

I totally agreed, esp. for the Prius. Parking sensor can be more useful than backup camera, too.

The black seems to match with the 16" alloys better than with the 15" alloys

    Dontcheff,

I also notice a couple of other differences between your version and the one sold in the U.S. First you have fender signal indicators. We do not. And it looks like you have 16 or 17 inch wheels, which I know that in my sales region are not offered. Are those larger wheels standard equipment?

Thanks for coming clean Burney - I thought it was just me. It's so important that the tires are clean and sprayed shiny too. My wife says I'm obsessed and - I am.

    Heya,

    CRUD! You're in Arizona!

I was hoping you where in San Diego, so I could offer to let you wash MY Prius a couple times a week.
