Hi all, i'm new here. I'm getting ready to purchase a 2015 Prius Two or Three ( not II or III as roman numerals were for model year 2010). I read some older posts about some of the differences between the 2 and 3, but couldn't find an updated answer so I apologize if this has been asked previously.

To put it simply, are their any noticeable differences with the Two vs Three. It seems like the only difference is the navigation unit. It appears that the rear camera is standard in the 2015 Prius Two based on the Toyota configuration tool where it wasn't in older models? It's a roughly $1,300 price difference, and if it's just the navi I might look for an aftermarket one as the in-dash one looks pretty outdated IMO for a 2015 car, or I will simply use my new Nexus 6 phone.

Am I missing something? Safety features, tires, anything? The $1,300 isn't a big deal, but if there really is no difference other than the navi then i'll most likely go with the Two. However, if there are some added safety features, etc. then maybe it's worth it.

    Truecar's "target price":
    Prius Three $24,546
    Prius Two $23,235

I'll start negotiations much lower, but with end of month, low oil prices and OPEC not increasing output I figure it might be a good time to pick up a Prius and maybe get a few more hundred off.

    Thanks! Looking forward to participating!

MrWh1t3 – Do not overlook the Three (3) Door “Smart Key,” SKS, which is standard in the Three, but does not come with the Two. The Two only comes with the One (1) Door, Driver’s Door, SKS.

Many folks come down with a case of “Buyer’s Remorse” after they purchase a Prius with only the One (1) Door SKS versus the added convenience of Three (3) Door SKS.

I would recommend considering doing some hard bargaining on a Three to close the $25,765 - $24,200 = $1,565 MSRP price differential between the Three & Two to get you the 3-Door SKS & Entune App Suite w/ Navigation.

For me the satellite radio and nav would justify the upgrade.

Love the satellite radio. The NAV is a poor substitute for a nice Garmin or other stand-alone GPS. Mounting a GPS is easy as seen here.

Hows the navi for 2015, has it been upgraded? On my 2012, it's such crap, useless craptastic junk. The backup camera is equally horrendous. If it weren't for audio controls, I would stick a Garmin on the screen itself. Not sure if I can live without the 3 door comfort access though, especially with kids.

No, the navigation systems remain the same. There are two versions - 6.1" and 7" with different suppliers and different mapping software, rendering and data.

Is your backup camera displayed on the 6.1" screen on your Four? A Four with the 7" LCD should have a really sharp picture with guide lines overlaid. I was satisfied with the quality on my slightly lower resolution 7" LCD on the 2010 (cause the nav's DVD-based vs. HDD-based on the 2012+ w/ the 7" LCD). I saw the backup camera on the 2014 Corolla on the 6.1" Display Audio and it's rather grainy.

What exactly is, "3 door comfort access" - Is this the SKS people talk about? I don't have kids. Just my wife and I.

{EDIT} - Looks like that comfort access is the keyless entry thing... That seems like a nice feature for the 2 vs. 3 upgrade I guess. I will get Siruis/XM, but again, will most likely swap out the in-dash system. It's simply embarrassing on a 2015 car IMO.

I guess i'll go with the 3 then.
