    Hey guys,

I bought a new android auto head unit. I got most of the install.

The only thing I am missing is the video input for the rear camera to the new head unit. I got the video reverse line so that it switches to the cam when I am in reverse. My 16 pin connector I know is usually for the camera, but the wires are a different color than what I have been reading on (no yellow, just orange color). Any help appreciated. Pictures attached

They make an adapter box (if I remember) that converts the factory plug to the connectors you need for the back of the new radio. I couldn't tell you anything about it, but I believe PAC or Metra make one. I didn't have to use the converter box for the camera since mine didn't come with an OEM camera.

What brand of head unit did you buy?

Careful, most aftermarket head units output 12v for aftermarket 12v cameras.

The factory camera runs on 6v, voltage regulator required.

It really does make a difference as to the head unit you purchased and where. I bought mine from Crutchfield (Alpine Head Unit). I purchased the custom wire harness for the Alpine unit. Everything plugged in. Everything works. Back up camera and all the steering wheel functions. No splicing. No Dicing.
