Hello Guys, This is my first posting in this forum, bought my 2008 Prius Tspirit. The GPS navigation is not working, not in car so can't remember the message. The previous owner stated he only used it locally so didnt need gps and said it just need a programmable disc. There is a gps disc in the car, every time i load nothing happens, nothing wrong with cd player as it plays music cds whenever i insert it. The car has done 47000 mileage and i am based in london, uk. The rear parking works. its not huge issue as i have TomTom but nice to have orius in-built working as well.
I don't have navigation and I'm not in the European market, but isn't the NAV disk a DVD, and isn't the drive for said disk under the driver seat? I think that is what I have read about the NAV system here in the states.
Yes you should insert the DVD into your GPS unit under the driver seat. The dash is for CD only. Read your NAV manual to know how to insert the DVD.
Ok, so you insert DVD under driver seat, i will certainly try that. Thanks. Hopefully it would be easy task to go under drivers seat. Will try and let you know guys of the outcome.
The correct terminology is "under the left-hand front seat". In the UK the car is a RHD, but the locations of the JBL amp (if fitted) -- and as you have the T-Spirit, it is -- and the Nav DVD player do not change positions in relation to the steering wheel. So to reiterate, in all models of Prius world-wide, and where fitted, the nav DVD is located under the LH front seat and the JBL stereo amp is located under the RH front seat. You load the nav DVD from the back seat as the mouth of the DVD player is accessed from the rear of the front seat. Instruction in the nav supplemental user guide. hope this helps

This is also my first post. I have a 2008 Prius whose GPS recently stopped working after the dealer replaced the 12V battery. I got a message that said, 'Program can not be read, contact to a dealer.' After laughing about the message, I returned to the dealer and was told that their serviceman determined that the DVD player is the problem because the GPS disc loaded fine on another car. I was then given the name of a company in Austin, TX to call, and learned that the DVD player replacement cost will be $650. So, I'm asking if anyone has had a similar experience and more importantly, what was the fix? Arch
