Can I take a CD from a Lexus (2009 version) and install it in my device under the driver's seat? Seems like a rip off to buy a Prius CD and then to let Toyota install the CD and supposedly program the sysem for $350.00. Thoughts and direction please Tom:D

If you have the Lexus CD, and the 2009 version is compatible with your 2006, then it is worth a try. From what I understand, the Lexus and Prius use the same Nav system. It should be a matter up installing the CD, booting up the system and setting the Optional settings to your area and to match your driving style.

An updated CD from Toyota is listed as $199. It should be just a matter of inserting the CD, booting up the system and setting Optional settings. I would not think that you would need the dealer to set the system up for you. If you have a Nav manual it will explain all of the settings and how it works.
