Is there a way to test to see if your Pre Collision System is working (without running into something). The first day or two that I had the car I would get a warning when I pulled into the garage next to the wall. But since then nothing in the garage. A kid on a bike rode in front of me while I was just about to take off, so under 7 miles per hour when that happened. I stopped in front of him, kind of scared me, but nothing from the car.

Why not put a large but fairly lightweight cardboard box in your driveway and see if it allows you to run into it without a warning or brake application?

I, too, wondered if mine was working, but I found out on Saturday. I was on the Interstate going around 45 due to some construction. The car in front of me braked suddenly and my Prime braked and alerted me.

It may have saved me from rear-ending the car in front of me. I was impressed!

@MNdriver, impressive, another reason to own this car. I keep imagining setting up a test with the cardboard box and hitting it then getting a message saying, "You can't fool me with a fake box test"

Well, it DOES have a "Do you need to take a break?" message with a coffee cup, if the lane departure system detects weaving from one side to another. So why not a "fake box" message?

Funnier would be not stopping at the box and saying... "you can't fool me with a fake box test!":ROFLMAO:

    Sorry couldn't resist.

Of course, you could always draw a picture of a child on a bicycle on the box. Got to stay ahead of artificial intelligence!

Drape some saline solution (0.9%) saturated towels on the box to replicate the electrical characteristics of humans.
