The power windows quit working in my 2007 Prius. At least, all except the driver's[IMG] side. The others won't work either from the driver's panel or from the door switch.

I was going to check the fuses, but can't find one. The manual lists a 15A fuse for power windows and some electronics, which seems OK - in the panel by the e-brake. But it also lists a 30A fuse there, which I can't find. Not helped by the fact I now need reading glasses and it's up-side-down near the floor.

Any suggestions, or a picture of where to find the 30A fuse ?

Have you tried pushing on the button that disables all the other power windows first?

Yes, it sounds like you inadvertently pushed the child proof button! H

OP must be first time using power window. Read through he manual when you have time.
You will learn/know a lot of things.

    Thanks guys!
In 5-odd years of owning the car, I have never hit the button before. My kids were too old to bother with that stuff when we bought the car, and for that matter I never saw one of them getting out of their seat and opening the sliding door on our Previa as a credible risk, either.

And yes, I did read the manual when we bought it, trying unsuccessfully to find out more about the hybrid system, but child-proof locks were of no interest.

Don't feel bad. I once took a clothes dryer completely apart looking for a problem it was having. Wouldn't get very hot and drum would only turn if I started spinning it by hand first. Even pulled the motor and took it in for a bench test. It was fine but the guy doing the test asked what voltage I had from the wall. Duh...never checked that...guess what...low voltage....bad breaker. $30 breaker later and a couple hours reassembling the dryer...all was working fine. Lesson learned...try the simplest fix/test first.  :ROFLMAO:

For future reference, the elusive fuse is hidden. It can be found once you remove a couple of parts on the dash.

Refer to following link for more details. Also note that the rear window defogger fuse is in the same area as the electric window fuse.

Just did same thing!. Never messed with child lock before. I was all over the manual, looking for fuse locations (and not finding them) when I wound up here. D'oh!

I must say in my defense though that I would not have thought that child lock would have prevented the DRIVER'S controls for the other windows from operating. This is what led me to the fuse hypothesis.

And yet again, this thread helped me figure out for my elderly mom's 2005 Prius. And yes, I had read the owners manual many times over the years.

The passenger window was partially down, but then wouldn't go up. I tried the switch on the driver's door, where I thought the switch might have gone bad, and the passenger door. I too started to wonder about a fuse. My other thought was the motor was gone, but reading through PriusChat it was a consensus that if a motor goes it would typically be the driver's door. But the car had to sit overnight with the window partially open, and my mom saying she was going to the dealer this morning.

Going back out in daylight, and after reading this, I thought I'd check the Prius again. And of course saw that the child lock switch had been pushed down. I had thought of it at first, but I was in the dark too thinking that only stopped the switches at the driver's door from working, which of course isn't the case or there'd be no child lock. The window then rolled right back up when the switch is set correctly. Then my mom said she had been cleaning the interior of the car and must have pushed the switch.

I was thrown off initially because the window was partially up, and thus looked more like something must have happened in the short time between rolling down and trying to roll back up.

So PriusChat comes through again for us. I don't get to spend as much time here as I'd like, as I also have a 2006 with a Hymotion 5kwh kit added a few years back.

Thanks for posting this. Of course it was very early on a Sunday morning and I hadn't had any coffee. After fumbling thru the fuse box -- the fuses don't match the diagram -- I did the search and found your post. I'd normally feel foolish, but I'm just happy to know it was so simple; now I can get back to my reading...
