I bought a used Prius and it needed a battery so I put in a new from store battery next tried to start car but nothing happened it just sits there. Here is a list the things I have tested.
    1. the battery both new and old before leaving the parts store
    2. 12.5v to front fuse box and at the white wire to secondary fuse panel including 2nd panel.
    3. brake stop switch brake lights turn on and there is the typical wheering noise at time of pedal depression.
    4. power at rear master service connection for HVB.
    5. there is power at the ignition fuses and at the button(green led lights up) but not entirely sure if I should trust that assumption.
    6. had a lock smith out and ruled out the key being bad and if you try to lock with the key in the car, it yells and tells me Im an idiot don't do that.
    7. the car is a 2011 Prius 3 with nav and sun roof I only have one key and no history on the car other then the 2 cans of cat food I found under the seat, unopened thankfully.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

try holding the power button down for a few seconds with foot on brake, or pushing it 3 times, i forget.

sometimes you have to after 12v disconnect
