I get in and out of my car a lot on any given day. And I have developed a habit of letting the seat go all the way back when getting out to make it easier to step in and out of the car. Then when I get in, I move the seat forward to my preferred driving position.

I am considering the Premium model but it has power seats. For anyone who has test driven a model with the power seats: how quickly can the seat be moved forward and backwards? Does have just a power option for moving the seat forward and back, or can this be done manually as well?

I don't know but I'm going to sound off anyway. Every power seat I've seen is only power adjustable. So I would think no manual adjuster. But power seats could (and should, but they don't always) have a memory. My pickup truck automatically moves the seat back when I power off, and automatically moves it to the memorized position when power on. And it can be tied to the key so two drivers can have different settings. Does the prime power seats have this ability?

The Prime has no such memory functions from what I've read in the Owner's Manual. In fact I'm pretty sure no Toyota car has that capability. You'd have to go to a Lexus for the memory function or Toyota's SUVs in their Limited class, except the RAV4.

It went forward in tech toys but not luxury features.

To the OP, no, it's power adjustable only, no manual override.

Our last power seat was a 2002 Camry. It's not particularly fast.

Toyota's in the rest of the world have this feature, just not in North America.

Imo, I think it's because All cars are much cheaper in NA when compared to everywhere else, I also think car manufactures feel they shouldn't give us the same premium features when we pay half of what everyone else in the world pays for the their cars.

I have a 2014 Avalon with power seats that has a memory function for 2 driver's. You can also set the seat function to automatically move back when the engine is shut off and when it is turned on to move to the preset memory.

Memory seat position is mainly a high end(costs more) car feature in the US. It would have made sense to put it in the Prime, if the goal was a more luxury oriented Prius, but it looks like Toyota felt it was too costly.

LOL, yeah the older models seemed to have this function because it was on the 2006 Avalon we had as well. I went to build a 2017 model and noticed it wasn't specifically spelled out anymore on either the Limited Avalon or the Avalon Hybrid. Also tried the HyCam XLE and no memory function specified there either. It is specifically mentioned in the HyHi Limited though.

In our '16 v the power seats take a good 5 seconds (while pushing/ holding the switch) to go front to back.

No manual override/ no memory setting...I do the same for ease of ingress/ egress.

My 13 Avalon has memory seats, think it is the only Toyota that has that feature.

Yeah as soon as I said that, I found out the Highlander Limited Platinum has it as well. The new Venza in Limited trim will have it as well as the RAV4 Prime in it’s XSE trim.

As commented, power seat on PRIME Premium is not fast at all. No manual override. I have set the seat position and never changed it. If the car get serviced and a tech moved the seat position it took me good minute or longer to find the exact position I had it set. That being said, your profile is showing you have 2017 PRIME Advanced. I am bit confused why you are asking this question about Premium trim? The power seats are the same in those two trims, AFAIK.
