Yep, that's what they say. The catch? Well, they say it 'CAN' cruise at 70mpg all electric, but shouldn't they say that they 'plan' for it to work out that way . . . you know . . . in TWO or THREE years? We'll see. I mean, they DO have one small hurdle ~ right? Like, building it?

But heck, for $44K ... that's less than our Lexus hybrid SUV. Oh, then there's the 25% mpg improvement. Gee, that's a whopping 3mpg better for my neighbor, who only gets 12mpg in his. Of course those EPA folks say it's supposed to get 14mpg. Oh, but folks only want to scream about EPA inaccuracies when applied to the Prius. I forgot.

keyword.. "starts at $44k" for the base Cayenne V6.

Hmm.. 70mph eh.... check out the other thread. Toyota modified the plug-in Prius to do 62mph so it's pretty close.

Just wonder how long the battery lasts at 70mph. This also goes to show that you don't need 300hp to cruise on the highway... for a Cayenne, 30hp is probably enough. (I mean a regular sedan only needs 15ish hp right?)

Yeah... and if it is not PHEV, there's really not much point!

The EV1 needed about 5hp to sustain 65mph.
