We just bought a used 2020 Prius Prime. Drove it home from Florida to the Carolinas. We had no idea that the seller has turned off the parking sensor and PKSB function. I turned the functions on and immediately got a PKSB malfunction message. I can’t tell you how irate I am at the seller but there’s no recourse. It’s not worth driving back 8 hrs and dealing with the drama.

I used my scan tool for for two codes C1AE5 and C1AEC. Rock Hill Toyota confirmed the codes and said the front right parking sensor needed to be replaced and the entire system deactivated to the tune of $900. They also said I’d that doesn’t work they will have to dig deeper.

I am hoping this is the end of the misery but can anyone with a similar experience comment?

Are the sensors clear? The 12 penny size sensors sometimes just need to be cleaned on the front/rear/side bumpers. Same with the adaptive cruise control antenna. The front Toyota emblem.
