I just started getting a "PKSB Malfunction" message on my 2019 Prius AWD multifunction display. I took it into the dealer, and they indicated that the front right sensor had been damaged by some sort of road debris. They want 8 hour of shop time, plus parts to fix this. I would like to disable the parking assist function, since I am proud of my parking skills, and doubt I will ever use this function. I don't believe it is worth $1200 to fix this. Can anyone point me in the correct direction? The dealer was obviously no help.

Auto repair these days ain't no fun. And that bumper / headlight assemblies are no joke, Not sure how much the dealer charged you so far, but if you think it might help or might be worth the effort, get a second opinion.

I'm with you there; think it's time for some consumer push-back. My parking "skills" are abysmal, but still, all this high-end dreck, fugeaboutit.

    Parking assist components here:

Parking Aid for 2019 Toyota Prius AWD-e | Toyota Parts

And Repair Manual info attached. Not sure if I've got it all. It's a funky compilation, sections sorted alphabetically, so "install" comes before "removal". If you need more just post in this thread; I'll try to find..

@Gordon Leedy did they tell you which senor(s) they found faulty?
@Mendel Leisk thanks for those clues. I'm getting a real world primer for soon to be needed techstream functions.
