Here's mine: I plug in when it's convenient.

The rest of the time, I'm content with the excellent fuel economy. Currently a plug-in charge delivers me the equivalent benefit of a half-liter of fuel.

If I lived less than 12 miles from work, plugging-in would be a totally paying option, but what a waste, when a bicycle would serve the purpose so much better.

is there a poll option that should be added for you then?

so you only charge publicly? or simply work graveyard?

i never charge publicly (unless you count 15 minutes at whole foods) there aren't any public chargers around here. i charge every day at home, several times if i make several trips, and once a day at work. (free 120v outlet)

ok, we are good then. by "charging every night" i really want to know if when leaving home whether your battery is fully charged. most people charge over night or close to it. granted not always the case and some (like me) get up early enough where I could plug in and be fully charged by the time I had to go somewhere. This is what I do on late days or days off in my LEAF

I am guessing the people who got PiPs for the express purpose of driving solo in the HOV lanes will not respond to this poll so wondering if anyone has any personal info on this or would like to hazard a guess as to how many there are out there who don't charge

Bisco - what town are you in ? I've charged at 4-5 free stations in and around Boston

Totally respect those cyclists (at least the ones that obey the lights) but many of us lug items that wouldn't be possible on a bike

I hear ya. I live in Oly which rates "Silver" on the bike friendly scale but would not ride on the roads around here if my life depended on it (which wouldn't be a long one out there!) Luckily we have a lot of trails that run all over town and most are not even within sight of a major road.
But for work, I need to haul a printer, laptop, ancient wireless network (which means the entire setup is in a suitcase!) several handhelds, etc...

so that means besides no bike, the hatch area of my LEAF is pretty full!

i have no idea how many hovers don't charge, but a large percentage wouldn't surprise me. as with any government stimulus, it skews the numbers.i'm in dedham, even the whole foods at legacy doesn't have chargers like the one in wellesley. i get out, but never run into any. it's not like california, where you can almost plan your day around them.

I picked #2, charge at work and at home. And when I was off work, I continually charged after my errands so only used EV. I drive a roundtrip of 60 miles each day. Plugging in is actually beneficial. And the stickers should be coming in January, so am looking forward to that perk as well....

I charge every M-F at work, rarely during the week at home and at night(early morning) Sat and Sun...sometimes twice on weekends.

:)Prior to getting my BMW i3 BEV in mid September, I was charging twice a day, six days a week. Now, I only drive my Prius no more than two days per week, and not charging a work. It was just too much effort to make the commute all EV. Plus, I prefer to drive the Prius in hybrid mode on the interstate. I plan to keep my Prius, but my i3 is my daily driver. I normally go three days between charges. All EV is wonderful. I wouldn't own another PHEV unless the battery range was substantial.

I charge every "night" (scheduled to start at 2:30am) at home. In the weekend, I may get an extra charge during the day.
