Phone call buttons on III with new HU

    If I got a level III without NAV, then upgraded the HU would the adapter cable for steering wheel controls also support the hands free phone buttons that come in the level III for calls or is it just the volume and other basic buttons. Maybe someone can share how that cable works, is it somehow programmable?

    I am in the process of installing a new JVC NX7000 in my 2010 Prius
    III. This came with a free bluetooth kit which is controlled by the JVC interface and by-passes the steering wheel bluetooth controls.
    I think you will lose the call buttons on the III when you install the new HU. Others may know better, Pleaes chime in

    Jim,
    Please follow up with a review of the NX7000. I've been thinking of the same HU, with a remote and one of the few to have a removable faceplate it looks like a great model. All I'd ever need and much less on amazon than any other competitor. I was thinking of the Kenwood DNX9140 but you can't hook up Sirius and HD Radio at the same time. What surround frame piece are you using?

    Bezel UK (Only option now), XM Micro radio Amazon, Bluetooth JVC included with purchase.

    All items have been bench tested and I will install this weekend Cost (approx 1K)

    I just finished a rather long, arduous install of a Pioneer Avic-z110bt in my V, and the latest version of the PAC SWI-PS for steering wheel interface with aftermarket HU integration retains use of ALL STEERING WHEEL BUTTONS. You will have to see if the JVC version of PAC's SWI does this as well.

    It should be noted that the 1.6.8 version of the SWI-PS just was released weeks before my install and I actually had to call PAC to find a distributor that had any.

    Been following your previous posts and do understand your challange. It looks like the PAC-SW will work fine with the JVC interface. Pics would be appreciated.
