What kind of perks do you get for driving a Prius? I have heard of free parking in town, discounts at toll roads, prime parking, is it true? Please tell me where you live, I am in Denver, Colorado.

Happiness and money left in the bank each fortnight.

Because I have personalised number plates that look like government plates and the department I work for has 3 or 4 Prius parked behind my office I can get away with parking in the spaces reserved for government cars when their aren't any spaces under the carport where we are suposed to park.

Here in Queensland, Hybrid owners are exempt from the Government Stamp Duty increase which has just been introduced this year on all new and used car sales.

Prius owners also get half-price parking at Brisbane City Council carparks.

We also have negotiated servicing/parts discounts at Toyota Dealers for our Club members.

    Life's good here!

It's a babe magnet. I have to beat them away with a stick. I'm extrapolating from one data point, my wife of 32 years, but she likes it a lot.

While it hasn't arrived at the dealership , my bank is dropping my financing rate by 0.45 % based on me buying a fuel efficient car. :D
    I couldn't believe it!
They are seriously running a promotion right now that starts at a base APR and adjust it down based on how fuel efficient the purchased car is.
It's about time that private industry promote/reward people for doing the right things!

In DC you don't pay the 'excise' (aka Sales) tax on a Prius Purchase which saves you 8%.

It also costs 1/2 as much to register it as a regular car.

On the flip side, you pay more sales tax and double the registration fee on SUVs over 6,000 lb.
