Please post a picture of the PCV location on my 2010 prius. I tried replacing but never found the damn thing.

    thanks

I found this on a forum, saying it's incorporated into the valve cover. Seems plausible, there's a large hose coming out of there, over to the air intake.

So it's maybe under this bump:

View is looking from passenger side front bumper. The large hole is oil filler.

Since the only other reason to take off that cover would be for valve adjustment, and the 3rd gen has hydraulic (automatic) adjustment, I'd be inclined to leave it be.

On a 3rd gen, I don't think it lives in the valve cover. It seems to screw into the "NO. 1 VENTILATION CASE" which is mounted facing forward on the cylinder head, maybe just above the no. 4 port of the intake manifold, if I've got my bearings right (nope, it's facing forward on the block, so it's beneath the intake manifold and harder to see) in this illustration.

The hump on top of the valve cover is for a hose to the filtered air intake.

It's directly under the intake manifold. You can get it from underneath the car but along with pulling the under panel, it takes a stubby 22mm wrench and patience to turn the thing a fraction of a turn at a time. I can't imagine pulling it from above without pulling the I.M. but that's not saying it's impossible.

If you've got high mileage on your 2010, you may want to do an EGR port cleaning on the I.M. and do the PCV while you've got it off.

Ah, I can see the advantage in signing up on techinfo to view the manuals directly, since turning this one into PDF just turned all the hyperlinks into little dead blue boxes that say "INFO". (Most of them probably aren't needed, but the one with the formula for correcting a torque wrench extended with a wrench could be handy for people.)

The older manuals were just electronic versions of paper ones anyway, so nothing was lost converting them to PDF ... but no more, alas, no more....

I cleaned the throttle body yesterday, and it was kinda hard to see, but looked like an oil sheen beyond the flap, coating bottom of throttle body. Would that be where that PCV valve inlets? Thinking so.

If you follow nutzaboutbolts throttle body clean video, gives a good idea. Also pull out the box below engine filter and you're there.

That's like saying marriage is supposed to be maintenance free. Some are better than others...but you pay as you go or you pay in the end. ;)
