    Hey guys,

I have as many know a Package II prius without JBL and without Nav.

At first I dealt with mediocre sound, but then grew tired of that and upgraded all the speakers. Now, im looking to find a better way to listen to my music. The AUX jack is a joke, and is very cumbersome. The sound it brings in from the iPod is not very "refined' and sounds like a tape.

Since I sit in my Prius in lovely Los Angeles Traffic many days of the week, I would like some nice sound. Today I found on the Prius Chat store this nifty thing:

PriusChat Shop : 2010 Toyota Prius OEM iPod Interface Integration Kit [PT545-00082] - $209.99

Would something like this work for a non nav/non jbl system? How do I know if my car is SAT radio ready?

If anyone has this please chime in and give your comments regarding the product and the sound it delivers vs. AUX.

    Thanks guys!

the AUX jack could sound great if you have it set up correctly. Make sure the volume on your iPod is turned up loud... about 70 - 80% if not more... (not full)... that will give a good amount of gain into your head end unit.

The ipod interface is good and cool but it has some bugs. like you can't scroll thru music selects while you are listening because everytime you page down, it starts the next song that is at the top of the page. It would be nice if there was a firmware update but i've never heard of one.

    I have a 2010 bought in Aug. After I WRECKED my 2007 -

I'm interested in what you 'upgraded' your speakers too... my OEM JBL package sounds pretty nice.

What people were telling me was that an iPod "Line Out' connected to my AUX would benefit me. I dont know if that is true or not. As for the AUX I just kept the iPod to 100% (full) volume.

As for the interface, im going to look into it and see if I cant find any more additional comments.

The speaker upgrade I did was worth every penny. Since I don't have the JBL system, I dont get the extra speaker on the door panels like you have. (I just have the bottom one) So my lows (bass) was ridiculously high (even when the head unit was set to zero) The highs were decent thanks to the front speakers in the dash, but the mids were muffled and hardly present.
So I went ahead and bought 2x 6x7 Infiniti component speakers for the front door panel, 2x 6" Sound ordnance for the rear door panel, and then kept the stock speakers in the dash.
