Does anyone know if there is a thread or information about the panic button on the key fob and if it can be disabled? It goes off when the key is in my pocket and I am getting into the car. (all right, I could lose a little weight!) If I am holding it in my hand and taking out groceries I hit it, etc. I don't want to disable the system, just the panic button. Any ideas?

I believe that is an option your dealer will have to disable with the scantool.

hmm.. but the panic button has to be held. It doesn't go on if you press it. You'd have to hold it for a second or two.

But yeah, it should be dealer customisable.

Mine must be extra sensitive. It goes off if you brush it!

    Thanks for the advice.

I snagged this file from the Prius-2G Yahoo! group. It was from efusco. The alarm is the 3rd item under the wireless configurable options. It might help to take a printout of this to the dealer to illustrate what you want to the service writer.
