I have looked around quite a bit and cant find one that matches my symptoms. I bought my 01 with a bunch of blown fuses and a bad 12v battery. It had abput 15 codes at that time. I have since replaced fuses and 12v battery but now i am getting a p3125 and a p3030. The gas engine will start for about 10 seconds then shudder to a stop and not restart for about 15 mins. I am at a loss after reading all the forums on if i should fight the HV battery out to test it or replace the inverter first or if i should just bite the bullet and take it to toyota and pay their $115 diagnosing fee
The p3030 indicates a probable bad voltage sensing harness. You'll need to at least get the cover off the battery to check it out. Please make sure that you remove the service plug and disconnect the 12V first. Then check the orange cables with a meter before touching anything. You'll likely have a lot of corrosion on the busbars that will need to be cleaned off. Careful with the voltage sensing ring terminals. They can break at the crimp, especially if you're fighting the glue-like junk that may have been put on. If the HV battery is original, the modules are probably crap. You may even find a burnt harness. You may still have inverter issues, or even one or more shorted circuits. But I'd take a look at the battery and the harness. How many miles on it? What part of Texas are you in?
