    Hi Everybody,

Thanks for all the help I have received in previous posts and thanks in advance. I got great answers even when I posted in the wrong place!

I recently went through my gen 2's battery with 127k on it and put it back in the car. I put on a new used wiring loom, a new computer and cleaned up bus bars.

I know this code is most likely caused by me not tightening everything to perfect torque or having a nut loose.

My car threw a P3020 this morning, I know that is low voltage in mod 10, but I am wondering before I rip the battery back out of the car, is this the mod that has that flimsy plastic connector that runs to the service plug? If so any recommendations on making this plastic piece less flimsy?

I'm mainly wondering if there is something different about module 10 from the other modules that would make it more likely to throw a code. I'm leaning towards connections rather than cells being the problem.

Yes, Block 10 (modules 19 and 20) is where the service plug connects into the system. I'm not sure what "flimsy plastic connector that runs to the service plug?" is referring to. The cables going from the terminals to the plug are fairly stout.

Thanks. Am I correct in that this block (thanks for the correction) just has the plastic with metal inlaid and no nuts for this connection? As in the plastic buss bar covers are the main thing that holds the plastic connections to the battery. I think mine is kind of loose which is the reason for this code.

The heavy orange cables that connect block 10 to the service plug have lugs crimped on the ends that are fastened to the module terminals. These lugs are housed in the "black plastic" safety cover, slip over the module terminals and are absolutely fastened to the module terminals with a nut.

    Help please.
Getting red triangle. Tried reset(by disconnecting 12v) & still get red triangle after driving<1 mile.
    Codes:
    P3000
    P3020
    C1259
    C1310
Weak block#10 (I think I saw this in tech stream when I took it to scan)

2007 Prius -260k miles- original hybrid battery. First time seeing this code.

Any idea what needs to be done ?

Also, hybrid fan is on continuously since this issue started yesterday.
And hybrid battery barely has a charge left (1 bar, magenta ).

When we looked at volt only one block seemed to be off. So was planning to get just cell(s) replaced for that block and get the balancing/reconditioning done.
    $250 labor + $40 per replaced cell.
Is this worth trying ? First time ever getting this code.

Also where to buy Toyota OEM battery , in case I go that route ? How much is reasonable labor cost to replace hybrid battery?

Drove 15 miles and battery charge is near 90%. Also, very steadily charging and discharging. Of course still have red triangle. I'll reset it tomorrow to see if it comes back again

Yesterday it was 110F and I am pretty sure I overheated the "hybrid battery" as car was parked outside and I drove it during afternoon for 45 mins . It took 2 mins for AC to start which had never happened before. Thinking the overheating may have caused this issue

have you cleaned the cooling fan and checked the connection for corrosion?

replacing modules and balancing can work, but no one can say for how long, so you have to be ready to continue doing so as other old modules fail.

a new battery can only be had at a dealer and they don't ship. but call around as far as you're willing to drive, because they are competitively priced. best price reported here around $1,700. and $400. for labor.

Drove today for 25 miles and battery came low to just 1 bar and stayed consistently low at just 1 bar through out the trip even though i waa braking a lot(which should charge). Mileage has dropped to 35 mpg from 41 mpg 2 days ago . So s/t is not right with the hybrid battery. Hybrid fan continuously works which is unusual as well.

Got 2 mechanic shops ready to install new Toyota hybrid battery for $2600 total for just 1 year warranty
They will not accept me buying OEM part from local toyota dealer.
My question is how do I verify the part they put is BRAND NEW OEM part and not reconditioned part? Trying to avoid getting screwed by repair thieves (a few bad experiences in the past )
Toyota dealer labor cost is way too high($900). Otherwise that would be my preferred place to get this done.. their part costs $2100 after taxes

i'm not sure, but i think you would have to be there when they take it off the truck and do the swap. i think there might be some posts here on how to identify an oem battery.
of course the case should look new, and there are no parts inside. so all the parts have to be swapped from the old battery. and that goes back to the dealer fore a core refund.

I also have ABS pump issue (c1256) where I hear buzzing noise every 10 secs. It's been like this since I had this car 5 years ago. Heard this issue drains hybrid battery.

If I get new OEM hybrid battery, do I need to fix this ABS pump issue (replace ABS pump) so it doesn't cause damage to new Hybrid battery ?
Also, can you just ignore this ABS pump issue(c1256) forever? Can it become a major/safety issue so it has to be fixed

I'm not sure where you might have heard this but it is more likely the 12 V battery that will be negatively affected by a continously cycling ABS pump.
    No.

there are many threads here on which to search actuator issues, or you can start a new thread asking for help

    Ok.

Here is another strange thing. I had Toyota dealer replace the hybrid battery with a NEW(no way for me to VERIFY). While red triangle, codes are all gone, mpg is still drastically down at 35mpg. 4 days ago before I had the hybrid battery issue it was giving 41mpg. Have driven 40+ miles since the dealership work.

Is it even possible that a dealership billed me for a NEW battery but just repaired(replaced bad cell) my old battery and did not put a NEW one ?
AC is still taking 3-5 mins to come on after I start the car...All signs of an old battery
