    ok so I have a 2005 prius.my check engine light came on about 2 months ago with code p1121 so I had the 3 way coolant valve changed and the check engine light went away. but sometimes randomly( it seems to happen when car is idling and engine is running) the red exclamation light comes on and I have to clear code even though it doesn't pull any codes. well today check engine came on and now its throwing code p1116, so should I just replace the sensor or is there something else I should try before I do that. I don't know if it means anything but my a/c don't work but has Freon.. thanks in advance for any suggestions

    You should check coolant level, make sure it's full. Many times the coolant loop was not filled properly and you run low on coolant.

    You should also make sure you add only the proper pink coolant for asian cars

    Ditto. The red triangle is probably a bad thing. Don't drive it anymore until you're sure the coolant is full. And that should be checked at the radiator fill neck when cold (under a plastic splash shield), not just the overflow reservoir.

    The red exclamation point is the only led not on a bulb check routine when you boot the car hence you never will see it till the car is unhappy. The car will throw a red exclamation point if the 12 volt battery is dipping below 11.5 upon boot up. Its very noticeable. Only flashes for a second. And its the only alert that will not store a code. Its more of a courtesy in that get ready the car is ready to leave you stranded.
    Best way to check this is to hook a dvm to the front jump points first thing in the am before you start the car then boot the car and watch what 12 volt dips too. I bet its 11.3.

    Replace your 12 volt battery.
