WARNING NOT TO PURCHASED DELPHI MAP SENSORS

So after spending a bunch of money trying to fix my P0171 code the problem turned out to be the very first part I replaced.

I forget the first engine code I got but it was the MAP sensor code. So I replaced the MAP sensor and then I started getting the P0171 code. So I replaced the MAP sensor again but still had the same problem. So long story short after replacing MAF (Delphi), Fuel Injectors, Air Intake, Throttle Body, MAP, EGR and Cooler the problem was the garbage Delphi MAP sensor. They claim it is for the Prius but it doesn’t fully seat which caused a vacuum leak and sent me chasing ghosts..
So just to get the work out do not by a Delphi MaP get a Denso from Toyota

Did you contact them for a refund or replacement? Maybe its not all of them and you just had a defective one?

In general, there isn't a "MAP sensor code" or a "MAF sensor code" or a whatever thing code.

There are codes whose fortune cookies have those names in them. But what the codes mean is a certain detection condition was met (the exact condition for each code is in the repair manual), and it is up to a human to work out why that was. Sometimes the problem will be the sensor, sometimes the wiring, sometimes something else.

Treating any code as if it just means to go replace whatever thing its fortune cookie mentions is a good way to make boat payments for the part sellers.

There are a few brands of the map and or MAF sensors that do not seat properly some of them is just a matter of taking your little exacto knife and trimming off a spot and then it will seat A lot of them are also poorly made I have four or five different ones here that range from $8 to 22 or something like that they can work seemingly like the inverter pump more often than not they don't so your best bet is go junkyarding every few months and when you're out at the junkyard you grab a few map a few maf in various and sundry other sensors That's really that simple usually they won't even charge you for them they look at those little stupid things that are like yeah right at least that's how they do me at Greensboro and in Raleigh or Garner Durham will charge you for a bolt.
