Orange County meet- May 15th noon

Here's a prelim of all cars (candid).

Everyone there had cameras, so there should be plenty of pics coming soon.

So far I've only posted pictures, not details. Silly me!

We all arrived around noon at Fuddruckers in Lake Forest (El Toro), CA. We hung out outside for about 20-30 minutes before realizing that our spot inside could disappear if we didn't move in quickly.

After eating, we all introduced ourselves and talked a bit about the cars, the mods we had done, and other experiences in general.

After an hour or so, we all migrated outside to start showing things on the car. I had some interest in my EV button, and others showed off their neat mods too.

After a while, it seemed that all of our hoods were up, and at that point, we were attracting passers buy who thought we were having a car show I demo'd the Prius "sealthiness" to a set of guys who were eager to find out more about the car.

Tocatihu (toyota-prius group) a.k.a. Doug, was very eager to measure our tread depth in order to determine potential mileage expectancy of the tires on our '04's. I think he mentioned 40k miles as a realistic possibility.

At one point, I also had my glovebox taken down, and my left vent off to show where I had installed the EV button. I also took the opportunity to demo where the jumpstart area was under the hood for the newer owners who hadn't seen it yet.

At another point, I was off in the distance, and James (PriusJames on the toyota-prius Y! list) was educating a crowd of guys looking at my car. It was also some of the group's first time at seeing a Tideland up close, so it was a treat for them as well

I don't think there was a single one of us who didn't have at least one digicam on hand, so there will be pictures a plenty.

All in all I feel we all learned alot from each other. I noted that Brian's Prius has the "Square" embossed around the P button whereas us older owners had a sticker (which some of us have since removed). Was interesting to note the design change mid-year, but the sticker did seem like an afterthought. I also got to see the great seat covers Brian had installed. I think he said they came from GT Covers - www.greatcovers.net.

We may try to do this on a monthly basis at various locations, and also try to include some rallys up to various places (Mt. Baldy was mentioned). I'm looking forward to future meetups. I'd love to see everyone (and then some) show up at least once.

Note Two extra Prius in Cybelle's last pic. One's hers, and another is a local Lake Forest couple (plates SAVN GAS - I see their car around all the time) who spotted the cars, and stopped in to see what was going on. So I suppose for a moment, we had 9 Prius and 13 total owners or future owners attending

Also worthy noting that both of the Tidelands came from Dianne :-D
