OK, newbie here - 2 week old prius and I'm already plasti-dipping the ding-dang thing! I had the widows tinted dark and I plastic dipped all the chrome parts black but I'm thinking of doing the bumpers and the rear spoiler. I went ahead and photoshopped the stock images so I could see what it looks like first, let me know if you like it or hate it!

Adding some tribal tattoo photoshops to see if I like them too!

Wow, tough crowd!! OK, the frog version is too much, but I think the image of the turtle and flames kind of ties in the front and the back - I'm also trying to think up a vanity plate for it - so flame away!

I like the spoiler, but I think the bumpers are too fat to do the entire thing. I like the front lips done on the and the bottom groove of the rear bumper.[IMG]

Did you do the rear taillights from a kit?

If you did the bumper and the spoiler it would look like...

Not my car, but like I said... the bumpers are too fat to do all black on, in my opinion.

Plasti dipping the bumpers will make it look like the old school Toyotas.

To me, it looks like you were in an accident and bought a new non-painted bumper. Not the sort of look I would put on my new car. And I have had numerous rice-mobiles and still own 2. I enjoy a modded out import, but black bumpers on a lightly coloured car just seem wrong. They aren't meant to be there, and look like cheap fixes to a problem. But in your case there wasn't even a problem to cover up!
Using some vinyl to create interesting designs on the car is sometimes nice. But that's a later mod IMHO. Your car is too high off the ground, there is too much wheel gap, the rims are the horrible stock ones, and the tires are too thick to pull off tribals.

Here is a "beautiful custom paintjob" GenII Prius: For Sale - 2007 Prius, low mileage ***BEAUTIFUL CUSTOM PAINT JOB*** Get noticed!! | PriusChat

It just looks weird... It doesn't fit that car, but she loved it. Everyone likes different things, and do what you want to do.

But there are so many other things the car is begging for before vinyls. And after all those things are done, it might need very different artwork. And good advice for any car modification is to take the original part off with the VIN sticker and put it in your garage wrapped up carefully. Then buy a replacement part like a junked part or eBay find and modify that. Then when you go to sell the car, you can put the stock pieces back with all original VINs. When you go to put those bumpers back to normal, you will have to buy new ones without your unique VIN number and any informed buyer or carlot will think it has been in an unreported accident.
