Does the Prius have an oil filter? I have no clue if it has one or not. Someone clue me in.

Urmmmm ... you're not teasing us, are you??

Seriously, open the hood and look straight down, using the dipstick as a rough guide. The oil filter hangs straight down from the lower left of the motor.

I guess that would be the passenger side of the motor.

I found a cap wrench that fits and from the floor it's *very* easy to reach up and get the filter off. If it's too tight, I have an assortment of 3/8 extensions for my ratchet.

From now on I'll be changing the oil at my hobby farm. Just pull it into the detached garage and go to work. With it this easy, for the same price the dealer charges I can use Mobil 1 0W-30.

Not too many cars out there where you can change the oil and filter with all four wheels flat on the ground. I don't like using ramps, always worry I'll be squashed flat.
