But the ones that have been in the HOV lanes keep plodding up and down the highway sucking down fuel at a gallon every 20 miles so up goes the value of the few already out there. Wanna make some money? Buy a silverado Hybrid now and sell again as an as new vehicle with a HOV sticker for more than you paid after the rule change.

    Well maybe.

It was stupid to let them in in the first place. Maybe a list of economy cars would be better, cars that get an EPA rating of better than 40MPH and a minimum 4 star safety rating.

HOV exceptions should be based on emissions and MPG. Hybrid label alone means nothing.

In California, HOV sticker eligibility is based on mpg (had to be >45 mpg on the old EPA highway test) and emissions. The only ones that qualified were the Prius, HCH and certain model years of Insights.

But it's moot now since no more are being issued.

Whose bright idea was it to let them in the HOV lane in the first place? Good riddance I say,not that I travel in Ohio HOV lanes.

Does anyone travel in HOV lanes in Ohio? I'm familiar with those in the DC area, but I've never seen any around Dayton, Cincinnati, or Columbus.

You forgot. ALL CNG vehicles (even those getting below 20mpg full size trucks/vans), and EV's.
