    Hello everyone,

Just wanted to say hello! I've been lurking here for a while and I finally picked up my new 2010 Prius III last weekend so I thought I'd chime in.

I'm really loving the car so far! My wife also drives a Gen II Prius and she works for Toyota Corporate so I'm no stranger to all the amazing things that Toyota has done with the Prius. Don't tell my wife, but the Gen III looks so much better than hers! :D

I was able to pick up a brand new set of Scion TC wheels from my friend and had them mounted. Center caps are en route. I also installed the Silverstar halogen bulbs and now I'm a happy camper. Getting 52 MPG with the new 17" wheels for the first 150 miles.

    Thanks for stopping by everybody!

Sweet! Congrats! Those tC wheels look just as good on the Gen 3 as they do on the Gen 2. Just note that they are heavy and Gen 2 owners have noticed a not-so-minute hit on mpg though they say it's worth the price :)

Also digging those wheels. Check your mileage when you fill up and see how it compares to the computer. Some people have reported that the computer tends to be on the high side. But when I did the calculation at our first fill-up, it was just slightly lower than the computer, maybe .5-1 mpg.

Thanks everyone! Yup, tinting is the next order of business for me. Since the pkg III doesn't have the auto dimming mirrors, tinting will also help at night.

As for the MPG's with the wheels, I still haven't run down my latest tank of gas, but I'll definitely post my results. I drove about 150 miles with my stock 15" wheels and I was getting about 54 MPG. I checked today and my MPG (reset once I put the wheels on of course) with the 17" wheels are holding pretty steady around 51.5-52, even with a good amount of uphill driving. If the computer overestimates the MPG by .5 to 1, I guess it's safe to say that it's averaging about 51 MPG, in line with the 3 MPG loss others have reported with the bigger wheels. My wife's Gen II with the new Ecopia tires on the 16" touring wheels is only getting about 48.5 MPG so I'm definitely happy with the 51 :)
